A race car only reaches its full potential strength through the perfect interaction of all its components. The experts of Bosch Motorsport analyze the initial situation and requirements of their customers and create the optimum combination of hardware and software for them.

This way, Bosch Motorsport helps engine manufacturers and race teams across the world to save valuable development time. And with near-realistic simulations in advance, it is possible to find the ideal balance for their vehicles.

As a supplier to numerous race series Bosch Motorsport assists its customers around the clock and around the world. Even though Bosch supports a series of race teams, each Bosch Motorsport representative will be solely dedicated to his team. It goes without saying that all data – and the solutions developed together – are treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Systems and Components

Components installed in race cars must do two things: they must withstand the most extreme pressures and must fulfill precise specifications. Thereby Bosch Motorsport products benefit from the knowledge of Bosch experts and the close co-operation with the Bosch development and prototype departments.

Bosch Motorsport's injection technology is based largely on the latest findings of series technology that are constantly perfected for the demands of racing. Thus the electronic gasoline direct- injection system was a complete success from the very first time it was used in a race, producing a double victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 2001. And when the first vehicle with Bosch Diesel lined up at the start of Le Mans in 2006, it also came in first – with a Common Rail Diesel system from Bosch.

As well as in the matter of the ABS function Bosch is developing especially for motorsports. The ABS function is always a balance between drivability and brake effectiveness. In motorsports, the balance shifts considerably towards brake- effectiveness. Using ten different control settings, the driver can configure the vehicle to the diversity of both the track and weather conditions. The system’s comprehensive software enables individual programming and diagnosis of vehicle data.

Data Management
Data Management

Through generating, saving, transferring, and evaluating data – with flexible hardware and software solutions that are also easy and ergonomic to operate, Bosch Motorsport is able to support the successful data management of its race teams.

Data that can provide information about the condition of engine and chassis of a race car is a valuable asset in motorsports. Everything starts with the precise measurement of this data. Bosch Motorsport therefore offers a complete program of the most varied sensors for a reliable data acquisition.

Every team has its own strategy about the precision with which data should be measured, displayed, and stored. With a series of specially developed data loggers, and displays Bosch Motorsport offers each team the possibilities of implementing this strategy successfully.

Regardless of whether a team transfers its vehicle data in the box or during the race with telemetry, Bosch Motorsport provides the appropriate solution. With different wireless systems a reliable and safe data transfer is ensured on every race track.

Following data transfer software solutions for data analysis provide the race teams with flexibility for analyzing their data, with a multiple calculations and display formats available. Naturally data security is of course the priority.
