New range of high-precision measuring tools

Four new products available for professionals

  • New range of measuring tools for professional trades people
  • High-precision and smart solution for measuring, line levelling and detection needs

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia – Bosch Power Tools recently introduced four new products to its measuring tools line – the GLM 40 Professional, GLM 100 C floor plan app, GLL3-15 Professional, GLL 5-50 Professional and D-tect 120 Professional.

Comprises of applications for Apple and Android smart phones, this latest range of versatile measuring tool is highly suitable for the professional trades community.

Mr. Simon Song, Managing director of Bosch Malaysia, who officiated the launch at Bosch’s Power Tools Training Centre at its headquarters in Petaling Jaya said, “Over the years, Bosch’s Power Tools Division has established itself as the market leader for power tools, accessories and trainings. Much of this success is attributed to our ability to effectively introduce high-precision products that save time and money for our customers. Today, we are building upon this principle to bring even more innovative products to the market to extend our market leadership.”

GLM 40 Professional laser range finder

Professional users can say goodbye to the conventional measuring tape with the GLM 40 Professional laser range finder. Portable in size and easy to use, the device can measure up to 40 meters with a simple click of a button. Professional trades people can utilize the tool for various measuring applications such as length, continuous measurements, area, volume and Pythagoras measurements. This tool is also highly durable with the IP54 standard, making it dust and splash resistant.

Additional features include a memory bank, where users can save up to 10 measurement values as well as an ‘addition and subtraction’ feature for the slightly advanced user. These tools are highly useful for professionals such as electricians, plumbers, contractors, real estate agents and many others.

GLM 100 C floor plan app for professionals

The GLM 100 C Professional was the first laser measure from Bosch to connect power tool with an app. Dimensions and jobsites documentation can be captured easily using the measurement camera app. Bosch has developed the system further and is now offering the GLM 100 C floor plan app for tablets and PCs. Trades people and planners can use it to draw floor plans digitally on a scale of 1:50 instead of using pencils and papers. It can also be used to import existing plans – for example to check if they are correct. Work results can be saved as a PDF and sent directly from jobsite by e-mail. The GLM 100 C floor plan app therefore makes all the required information immediately available anytime, anywhere. Data is synchronized between the app and tools by means of integrated Bluetooth interface in the laser measure.

Measuring results can therefore be transferred quickly and easily to tablets and PCs, which is processed using the app's versatile functions. This eliminates risk of errors resulting from manual transfer. Digitalization of floor plans enables project data to be captured faster and information to be exchanged more easily, which saves workmates, bosses and contractors, precious time.

The GLM 100 C floor plan app is available now for free in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

GLL 3-15 Professional and GLL 5-50 Professional

This new multi line laser range is recommended for professionals such as carpenters, plumbers, and contractors, just to name a few. The GLL 3-15 Professional and GLL 5-50 Professional is an attractive device providing compact, robust and high quality tool for everyday interior leveling applications. The key differences between these two products are the number of lines for applications: GLL 3-15 Professional has 3 lines while GLL 5-50 Professional has 5 lines.

Weighing at 0.5kg, the multi line laser is lightweight and easy to carry with modern detachable rotating platform for precise control of laser lines. This newly launched multi line laser is equipped with the IP54 standard, making it highly durable against dust and splash water resistant

D-tect 120 Professional

The D-tect 120 Professional is an easy-to-operate radar detector device which assists professionals in avoiding unwanted damages when drilling or chiseling on walls. Armed with the latest in radar technology innovation, the detection tool is able to effectively detect important objects within a wall up to 12 centimeters (depending on wall type). What is interesting is that the device is able to detect material of objects in walls, be it ferrous and non-ferrous metal objects, wooden substructures, water-filled plastic pipes, electrical cables, and other cables (such as network cables). The D-tect 120 Professional can be used on drywalls, concrete and universal (other types of walls).

Also included are two fantastic features for professional usages: spot measurement and centre finder. The spot measurement feature enables precise detection of objects without the need to move over the same spot multiple times. This is useful for small and tight spaces. With the centre finder, users can effortlessly find the centre of the detected object within the wall with simple crosshair and arrows on the illuminated display. This is very helpful for professionals who look to fit items such as cupboards, heavy duty parts or other items on existing wood or metal stud walls. For safety and other usages, the device can warn users when live cables are detected within the wall.

In addition, D-tect 120 Professional is the first time for Bosch to offer a detector with dual power supply: it can be powered either by a replaceable 10.8 volt rechargeable battery from the professional range or by four AA alkaline batteries together with the AA1 Professional alkaline adapter. This enables users to be flexible in their selection of power source.
